The moose are once again loose on the streets of Bennington. Bennington Moosefest 2009, is a summer-long, free, street art festival featuring life sized fiberglass Moose,(Bulls, Cows & Calves) that will be on display at locations around town (see location map).
Local artists have elaborately decorated the moose and with an amazing and diverse group of artistic themes. There are also 19 School Moose created by by school children. Bring the entire family to see these great creations.
There are many "Kodak moments" everywhere, so be sure to bring your camera. Many events are planned during Moosefest 2009, check the Website for listings, dates and times.
This event is modeled on Moosefest 2005 that attracted visitors from all over the world. The Vermont Chamber of Commerce has named this one of the "Top Ten Events of the Summer."
After being on display during the summer and fall you'll get a chance to own one of these for yourself. On October 17th the Moose Herd will be auctioned by 'Tim Milks, renowned Benefit Auctioneer and Entertainer. The proceeds from the event will be shared by four non profit organizations. The proceeds from the School Moose will be returned to the individual schools.
This is one you definitely won't want to miss. So you better make tracks to Bennington!!!
