A Romantic Itinerary A Romantic Itinerary

You're here (or practically on your way) and you're looking for a few ideas of how to spend your time together?
Look no further, we've assembled suggestions from around the state on what makes for the perfect romantic outing.

Inn to Inn Bike Tour - Vermont is the home of bike touring, and there's still no better place to slow down and two-wheel your way from cozy inn to cozy inn. (In winter, just trade your bikes for cross country skis!)

Snowshoeing - You haven't experienced the beauty of winter until you've explored Vermont's snowy woodlands on snowshoes. Many Vermont inns will set you up with rentals, trail maps and a gourmet box lunch, complete with wine and delicious desserts.

Sleigh Ride - You've seen it on postcards and in the movies. Nothing matches the pure romance of a horse-drawn sleigh ride, especially under a full moon. Ask your innkeeper for local sleigh rides.

Vermont Symphony Orchestra Concert - A clear summer evening. The sun setting over the Green Mountains. A picnic basket packed with fresh cheese, wine and hors d'oeuvres. And the strains of Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms rising on the breeze. It's the quintessential summer evening's entertainment. Check our events calendar for listings.

Hole up in Your Room - Sometimes the most romantic thing is to do nothing at all. This is especially true when you're staying in one of Vermont's famous B&Bs. A little room service, a couple of good books, and nowhere to go. Pure bliss!

Cruise Lake Champlain- Contrary to common perception, Vermont is home to big water offering gorgeous views. The Spirit of Ethan Allen tour boat features delicious dining and dancing while you watch the sun set.

Visit a chocolate, ice cream or teddy bear factory - See how these favorite treats are made, and of course, be sure to pick up something to go.

Visit a spa - Romance and indulgence go hand in hand. Visit one of Vermont's many spas for a blissful day of relaxation.

Watch the Stars - Vermont's rural landscape makes it ideal for stargazing. Simply take an evening stroll down a quiet country lane and look up. If you're lucky, the Northern Lights might even put on a show for you.

Gather round the campfire -- Camping offers romance galore. A crackling fire, plenty of fresh air and your own private tent for two. Vermont's State Parks offer dozens of camping options. For more suggestions, contact your innkeeper, or use our online Travel Planner.
