In Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom region, Newport lies on the southern shore of Lake Memphremagog just a few miles south of the Quebec border and offers ample opportunity for boating, swimming, hiking, biking, and more. Lake Memphremagog

This 31-mile-long lake sets Newport apart with outstanding swimming, paddling, boating, and more. Camp, play tennis, swim, or hike at Prouty Beach and Campground, where you can rent boats, fish for yellow perch, largemouth bass, or rainbow trout, or bask in the beauty of a summer day by the lake.
