Vermont By Rail
TRAVEL TO AND WITHIN VERMONT
Planning on traveling to Vermont this year? Consider taking the train...at a discount! With so much to offer, it’s no wonder Vermont is a top destination for getaways year round. Whether you’re from Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York or anywhere along the way, the most scenic way to get here is by train.
Skip the drive and ride the train to Vermont resorts. With through-ticketing to Killington Resort and Pico Mountain, the only other ticket you'll need is a lift ticket. When you book your ticket online for the Ethan Allen Express, choose Killington-Gramps Shuttle, VT (KLT) as your final destination and Amtrak's partner, Gramps Shuttle, will bring you to and from Rutland station and the slopes.
The Vermont Shires Connector, a twice-daily shuttle service launching early September, connects New York City with Manchester and Bennington, Vermont, via the Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak station in New York. Please call 800-685-RIDE or visit the Vermont Translines website for more details or information.
Traveling on the Vermonter Line? Many other resorts offer shuttle services from train stations with advance notice. With 19 alpine ski and snowboard resorts and 30 cross country touring centers to choose from, Vermont is the perfect destination for whatever level of adventure you seek.
