Rutland offers a vast array of activities and outdoor adventure for the whole family. Wonderfeet Kids’ Museum is a place where families can learn and play together – a destination discovery center that highlights the rich heritage of Vermont while building essential 21st century skills in our youth – especially in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) through interactive exhibits and programs. With a significant focus on interaction between parents/adults and children, the museum creates a unique learning and growth opportunity for both.
The Paramount Theater is a turn of the century theater re-established in 2000 as a vibrant, modern performing arts center in the middle of downtown Rutland. People of all ages can enjoy music, Broadway shows, comedy, film, family entertainment, magic, live broadcasts, and more.
The Vermont Farmers' Market is one of the largest and most diverse farmers markets in Vermont, and the first to operate during all 52 weeks in the year. As many as 60 vendors from Vermont and Washington County, NY are featured at Depot Park in downtown Rutland on Wednesdays, 3-6pm and Saturdays, 9am-2pm from May to October. Find everything from farm fresh veggies and fruits to artisan cheeses, handcrafted breads, maple syrup, Vermont crafts, jars of every type, and more.
Skip the drive and ride the train to Vermont resorts. With through-ticketing to Killington Resort and Pico Mountain, the only other ticket you'll need is a lift ticket. When you book your ticket online for the Ethan Allen Express, choose Killington-Gramps Shuttle, VT (KLT) as your final destination and Amtrak's partner, Gramps Shuttle, will bring you to and from Rutland station and the slopes.
