Thousands of runners test their mettle against a spectator-friendly course that showcases Burlington’s historic streets and its sweeping lake and mountain views. Vermont’s largest single-day sporting event, the marathon is preceded by a sports and fitness expo on Saturday and by mini-marathons for young athletes ages 4 to 14. The marathon Sunday is followed by a festive post-race festival in Waterfront Park.
