St. Albans, Vermont

Located on Lake Champlain in northern Vermont, Taylor Park is the center of this bustling downtown. Home to a weekly farmers market and summer music series, eclectic shops and culinary delights wrap around the center. As a recreation hub, St. Albans is the starting point for the 26-mile Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail, and only steps from downtown find Hard’ack Recreation Area, including a year-round indoor pool and community ski hill. At Kill Kare State Park, a ferry takes you to nearby Burton Island, where you can enjoy lunch and a day at the lake.

Hard’ack Recreation Area

The Hard’ack Recreation Area crowns St. Albans’ recreation scene. On 200 acres within a mile from downtown, discover disc golf, hiking, and biking in the summer, and swimming at a public pool year-round. In winter, the recreation area makes St. Albans one of the only Vermont cities with its own locally operated ski hill. Sledding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing at Hard’ack are draws for the whole family.
