Information Collection and Use
A few sections of this web site contain areas where visitors can provide personally identifiable information to the Vermont Department of Tourism (VDTM). Such information is stored and used to track activity on this web site. VDTM also will use this information to contact you when you request information about Vermont.
Requests for Travel Packets
Physical mailing addresses (Street or PO Box) entered by visitors requesting our seasonal Travel Packet are provided to VDTM's tourism related partners for follow-up when someone elects to "receive additional planning information" on our request form. A VDTM representative may contact you as part of VDTM's on-going customer service evaluation; or, when you have expressed an interest in a particular service offered by VDTM; or, if you have asked to receive updated information about Vermont in VDTM's monthly enewsletter. A VDTM representative may also contact you via email with announcements regarding new features on this Website or special events that match your interests. All VDTM email marketing campaigns offer an address to opt out of any further communications.
The Stay & Play Directory
The information collected is used to provide our visitors with this service. Information on interests, preferences, etc. is used to assure that they see the information that is relevant and useful to them. Email addresses are collected to confirm the identity of the person registering and to supply password reminders. We may use these addresses to send out updates as new features are added to the itinerary planner or other areas of the site. Mailing may be sent by VermontVacation.com in partnership with other relevant businesses such as the Vermont Ski Areas to provide relevant information on visiting Vermont.
