Montpelier Pride Fest and Parade
Annually in May
Vermont’s capital is the only one without a Starbucks or McDonalds, but it has a whole lot of Pride to offer. Every May, the capital city’s LGBTQ+ community and allies can gather on the Statehouse lawn for music from a local DJ, dance performances, and a late afternoon parade that loops through the historic downtown to return to the lawn in front of the gold-domed capital building. In the evening, local establishments will host a drag show, an open mic for queer musicians, and more.

This northern city lights up the shore of Lake Champlain with an entire weekend set aside to celebrate LGBTQ+ pride. A drag show kicks off the event Friday night. An all-day celebration on Saturday leads into a late-afternoon parade through the city’s historic Taylor Park, and on Sunday, guests can attend a family picnic and barbeque before closing the weekend with fireworks that will reflect bright rainbow colors on the lake.
